Welcome to Fourth Grade
Hello, I am Yvette Webster. I teach fourth grade at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. I earned a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in elementary education from Florida State University (Go Seminoles!) and a Master's Degree in education from Florida International University. Before college I was a Catholic School student from 1st thru 12th grade. I believe in Catholic Education. My husband and I sent our three children to Catholic Schools. Between the three of them they attended St. Ann, St. Francis, St Benedict, and Christian Brothers.
I have been teaching for 36 years. I have been at St. Francis for the last 16 years and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to teach here.
My husband and I have been married for 33 years and we have 3 wonderful children and 2 adorable grandchildren. I have a golden retriever named Watson. I like to cook, read, camp, fish and spend time with my family.
I love teaching fourth grade. While many see fourth grade as a challenging year, (it is!) it is also a fun year. In math we concentrate heavily on multiplication tables and also work on multi-digit multiplication, long division and of course fractions. In language arts we work on writing skills and grammar. We will read 3 novels along with the stories in our Wonder reading series. In science we study living things, and do several experiments and dissections! For social studies we learn about and celebrate all the regions of our great country. In religion we learn all about God's love for us, study many of the saints of the Catholic church and lead the celebrations of Mardi Gras and St. Joseph's Altar. In true Catholic tradition we will also help our community by performing many acts of service.
